Medical Alarms Ltd was established to support elderly or disabled individuals who may require emergency assistance while living independently. The service provides reassurance that help can be contacted quickly in the event of an emergency.
The service includes an alarm base unit, which also functions as a charger, together with a comfortable SOS pendant. The pendant can be worn around the wrist or neck, or securely attached to keys or a belt. All necessary attachments are included as part of the package.
The system is designed for straightforward installation and testing by the user. Once the initial test has been completed, the device is connected to our 24-hour Care Team monitoring service.
If assistance is required, the user simply presses the SOS button on the pendant. An alert is sent to the monitoring team, who will respond promptly. The situation is assessed via the system’s loudspeaker, and appropriate assistance is arranged, including contacting nominated emergency contacts or, where necessary, the emergency services.
WHAT IS THE SOS BUTTON?
Step 1: Activate the alarm
*In an emergency, press the SOS button on the device.
The device also includes a built-in fall detection sensor, which can automatically send an alert to our Emergency Response Monitoring Centre if the wearer is unable to press the button.
Step 2: Alert received
When the SOS button is activated, a distress signal is sent to our Emergency Response Monitoring Centre.
Step 3: Situation assessed
A member of our team responds to the alert, establishes communication with the user, and determines the appropriate course of action based on the nature of the situation.
Step 4: Assistance arranged
Where necessary, nominated contacts and, if appropriate, the emergency services will be notified.

Is there a contract period?
There is no minimum contract term. You may cancel the service at any time.
If you choose to cancel, you will not be charged further once the device has been returned in working order with all included accessories.

How much does the SOS Button cost?
The SOS Button device (valued at £200) is provided at no upfront cost when you sign up to a 12-month monitoring plan.
Monitoring is currently priced at £1.31 per day, reduced from £1.75 per day.
Additional savings may be available for customers who qualify for VAT exemption.
What happens if my device is lost?
If your device is lost, a replacement can be provided. A charge of £120 will apply for the replacement device.
